Your Whole Ballot

This very important election year, we’re asking Oregon voters to pledge to fill out their whole ballot. As excited as we all are by the Presidential and Senate races, here in Oregon we have some very important local races, the outcomes of which are likely to have a profound impact on the direction our state takes. Each of your votes is important, and participation becomes critical the further “down” the ballot you look. At the state, city, land egislative district level, races can be decided by only a handful of voters. Would previous election outcomes have been different if everyone had voted in every race? While it’s not possible to know for sure, given how close some of these contests have been, it’s certainly possible. If we are to elect progressive majorities in the Oregon House and Senate and increase the number of progressives in local government, we will need to pay greater to the “down ballot” races. You have a voice, you have a vote, make it heard. Take the pledge!
